Walker Kenney is a commercial photographer specializing in portraits so when he is photographing for his own enjoyment, people are the last thing he wants to work with. Kenney uses his camera to escape Atlanta and explore the countryside. In his art, Kenney wants to get at the things that are common to everyone. He believes there is a timeless beauty in landscapes and a universal appreciation for the changing of the seasons. Like Japanese haikus, he tries to allude to the season in some way, such as snow bending bamboo trees or spring flowers draping across young trees.
